GARY GROTTKE, CPA - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

As a highly involved CEO, Gary does more than what his CPA label requires of him – he reviews the financial side of every client’s business and makes recommendations for maximum business growth, providing top-level, CFO support that most bookkeeping firms cannot provide. He is always working to broaden his client-base, knowing that the business model he has developed can greatly benefit many different types of businesses, seeing it benefit current clients along with his own entrepreneurial endeavors.

Gary has worked professionally in the corporate world AND as an entrepreneur. He has over 30 years of financial, real-estate and management experience. He has also been involved in significant company mergers, acquisitions and turn-around situations. He has a BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University, an MBA from Purdue, is a CPA, a Licensed General Contractor, and a Certified Tax Preparer.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren. Now that the curse has been broken, he looks forward to more great baseball and championship games from his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.

STANLEY N. LOGAN - CHAIRMAN

Stan is a CPA with over 30 years experience as an accounting practitioner and operator of several businesses in technology and consulting. Most recently, Stan was President and Chief Operating Officer of a startup, XSELL Technologies (Artificial Intelligence) where he remains as an Advisor. He is also an Advisor to Thyng (Augmented Reality) based in Chicago.

Stan has led office, industry, national and international practices at Huron Consulting, KPMG and Arthur Andersen. His practice specialities include accounting, tax, forensic accounting, SEC reporting, due diligence and public debt and equity offerings including IPO’s.

Stan is located at our Chicago North Green Street Location.

HOLLIE BOURNE - DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Hollie has been with QBO since its inception in 2011. Her experience working with all parts of the back office has given her the insight into how to make bookkeeping processes more efficient and cost effective for clients. As the Director of Operations she works to ensure new clients are set up to receive the best possible service from the our team and allow clients to achieve the highest benefit from working with QBO.

Hollie attended TCU and Elmhurst College and received a BA in Psychology and Sociology. She has her MS in Organizational Psychology with a certification in Organizational Consulting. This has enhanced her ability to see the organizational problems in clients’ back office procedures and assists in developing remedies to alleviate these issues. She spends most of her free time with her family – husband Eric and children Heidi & Andrew – watching or playing baseball/softball and enjoying the outdoors. She loves to read, fitness, trying new foods & wine, and cheering for her favorite team – the Chicago Cubs!

KATY SWERDLICK, CPA - TAX MANAGER

Katy recently changed careers, joining the QBO team in 2017.  After 17 years of running her own business as a Doctor of Chiropractic, she returned to school to get her degree in accounting and obtain licensing as a CPA. Her experience answering her patients’ questions illuminated for her the importance of understanding tax, accounting and insurance issues.  Katy gets the greatest satisfaction working with business owners as she helps them understand and unravel their finances.

Spare time? Chloe, Ally and Zane, her three children, take up most of her spare time. Then add the two foster dogs that became their family dogs, and her time is all gone, but well spent.

DANIELLE GIZA - OFFICE MANAGER - NAPERVILLE IL

Danielle has been with QBO since May 2016 and began as the Administrative Assistant. Since then, her role has grown into Office Manager – overseeing all the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and payroll processing in the Naperville office. Her past experience in customer service, administrative work and accounting give her insight on the day-to-day of business operations. She is excited to work with business owners and use her accounting and business expertise to offer the best financial solutions.

Danielle is continuing her education at Rasmussen College as she works toward a Bachelors in Accounting and earning her CPA after graduation. For fun, Danielle, her husband and kids love to go camping and being outdoors. She cherishes her entire family and especially misses her daughter stationed in Germany serving in the Army as a member of the military police.

LORI DURYEA, EA - DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS - DENVER

Lori is one of the Senior Accountants in our team and works closely with approximately one hundred small business clients on a monthly basis. Lori joined the team in 2018, and holds 26 years of experience in small business and individual accounting, bookkeeping, tax planning, and tax compliance.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Metro State College and is an Enrolled Agent, which means she is a tax professional recognized by the US federal government and is accountable for completing continuing education and ethics courses on a frequent basis.

VICKI YANCEY, EA - DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS - DENVER

Vicki is one of the Senior Accountants in our team and works closely with approximately one hundred small business clients on a monthly basis. She has great experience with small business and individual accounting, bookkeeping, tax planning, and tax compliance.

PAM CARVEY - OFFICE MANAGER - DENVER

Pam joined the practice in 2018. In support of the office, her duties include answering the phones, greeting clients and assembling financial statements and tax returns. She electronically files client and company documentation, assists with new client set up, records accounts receivable and executes billing. Pam previously worked as a certified dental assistant and licensed realtor.

JOHN F. MURRAY, JR. CPA - TAX MANAGER - LAS VEGAS

John joined the QBO team in 2018. Partnering his 20 years of financial experience with a degree from Villanova in Accountancy and Series 7, Series 66, Life Insurance, and CPA licenses, John is well-versed to provide the best service to our clients. He does so by consulting with new and existing clients regarding ways to better their business.
